Shamir Khan is the youngest son of Nazar Hussain Khan of Bhopal. When I met him in 1995 he was another young player with quite a lot of taiyari, technique, but not overflowing with aesthetic content. I have heard that he has since abandoned sarangi.

My one recording of Shamir Khan is from 20 October, 1996.He plays rag Nat Bhairav, accompanied by another brother on tabla, and his father shouts out instruction—corrections and suggestions—now and then.
