Kanhaiyalal Mishra is one of the top sarangi players in Varanasi. He is a disciple of the great Hanuman Prasad Mishra. He has a few sarangi students, three of whose lessons I filmed. His eldest son is an excellent tabla player while his youngest son was just starting to play sarangi in 2011. He has exageratedly traditional disciplinarian views about teaching.
